Missy Pankake, Communications Director
Missy joined the Foundation staff as Communications Specialist in 2011 and was named Communications Director in 2014. She had also been a significant volunteer in the earliest days of the Foundation during her tenure as Internal Communications Manager for Bright Horizons from 1997 to 2005.
Her past experience includes the Public Affairs department of Vanderbilt University where her work was recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. She previously worked for Moxley Communications public relations firm in Knoxville, and she co-authored Knoxville: Gateway to the South, a publication for the Greater Knoxville Chamber of Commerce.
She has a B.A. in English/Communications from Maryville College in Maryville, TN. Missy, her husband Thomas, and her son Chance, live in Murfreesboro, TN.
