Two Bright Spaces® Open in Slymar, CA

December 17, 2019

We are excited to announce two Bright Space openings at Hope Gardens in Sylmar, CA. The Bright Spaces were funded by the Discover A Star Foundation of Universal Studios. Hope Gardens provides housing and support for women and children experiencing homelessness and serves an average of 130 children infant to 18 years old. They provide tutoring, mentoring family therapy, and planned recreational activities for the children and youth.

The team at Comcast NBCUniversal worked with the agency to create an after school space for the elementary age students and a teen space. Each space will provide the youth with an area to work on homework as well as an area to just relax with board games, art supplies, ping pong and air hockey.

Special thanks to Education Coordinator Janette Seddio at Comcast NBC Universal for taking the lead on this Bright Space project and for her continued support of Hope Gardens as a Connector volunteer. This is the second Bright Space project with Hope Gardens and Comcast NBCUniversal.
