National Volunteer Week: Making a Difference
Administrative Assistant and Community Champion Julie Triphahn Helps New Moms
Julie Triphahn, Administrative Assistant for the Bernice E. Lavin Child Development Center in Chicago, has been a regular volunteer at the New Moms Bright Spaces since they opened in 2013. She recently received recognition as a Community Champion for her work.
“I have hosted a group of their young ladies on a job shadow/tour of our child care facility and talked to them about the different possibilities for a career in early childhood education and how Bright Horizons can support someone who is interested in making this their career,” said Julie.
“Most recently I have organized several donation drives for New Moms here at our center. We had a Christmas drive where we collected personal care items for the young mothers and toys for the children, a diaper drive, and a new clothing drive. Our next donation drive will be a back to school drive this August.”
