Div. 7 Opens New Bright Space in Akron, OH
Division 7 recently joined together to create a beautiful new Bright Space for Harvest Home in Akron, OH. Harvest Home was a great agency partner because they employ a full-time child advocate whose job it is to help youngsters cope with the fear, rejection, abuse, and uncertainty that have been a part of most of their young lives.
“For this Bright Space, we wanted to create a “Living Room” setting with multiple sitting areas, a place for homework, an area for games, a place to crawl up with a book, and simply a place to feel safe from everyday struggles,” said Katie Cutlip, Division 7 Office Manager.
As a special project to help fill the room, each Region chose a “Basket Theme” and took on the task of overfilling it with specific items that went hand in hand with that theme. Some of the themes included books, games, puzzles, movie night, Wii games, relaxation, and more. One Region in particular donated more than 40 books and a $674 dollar check towards books. Another Center raised more than $300 in a trike-a-thon.
Thanks to all those in Division 7 who created a beautiful, warm and inviting space where the women and children can come together and truly enjoy the end of their day.
