DC Bright Space Used to Help Kids Focus on Being Kids
Community of Hope serves homeless and vulnerable families in Washington, D.C., through housing and healthcare. Our Bright Space is the children’s activity room at our family shelter. We use this space for everything youth-related, including our after school program, EEP (Educational Enrichment Program). The EEP program gives our young residents the opportunity to participate in educational activities and interact with caring volunteers through tutoring, games, crafts, and other fun activities.
The space is also used to host monthly birthday parties for our kids, art classes, and other family-friendly events. Above all, it is a safe, enriching space for kids to forget the circumstances of their homelessness and focus on being a kid!
