Bright Horizons Employees and Families Deliver a Christmas Miracle
One week before Christmas, no one had stepped forward to make Christmas happen for the 140 homeless children living at the Woodstock Family Center in Pennsylvania.
Portia, the executive director, sent an SOS message to her Bright Space Connector Meghan Aita, Bright Horizons’ enrollment counselor for PA/NJ: “At this time of the year in the past, we would have received lots of toys for our children by now. However this year we have not gotten anything for them, so I am asking if there is anything you can do to help us out this year.”
Meghan jumped into action, enlisting the help of Regional Manager Michelle Lennon and put out the word to Division 1 centers, to see if any could help. Not only did center employees and families step up to the plate, but Director Jen Albright’s husband was able to get his military group to contribute more than 50 gifts.
“Wow! I am speechless, although I had no doubt that our teachers and families would rise to the challenge,” says Division Vice President Donna Gretkowski. “I have goose bumps looking at all those presents. I am so proud to be part of this amazing team that has pulled together a Christmas at the last minute for the children at Woodstock.”
